I'm reducing my caffeine intake. Which teas should I drink?

However, there is no conclusive evidence showing that moderate consumption of caffeine is harmful. In fact, many studies point to the many health benefits of the caffeine found in tea, which has a different effect on the body than the caffeine in coffee.
If you're worried about the caffeine content in our black, green, and white teas, you might be interested to know that tea contains an amino acid called l-theanine, which supports a calm and focused state, helping to counteract any of the "jitters" or crashes you might associate with caffeine, especially if you are a coffee drinker.
The caffeine in tea is also bound to catechins, which form a larger molecule that takes longer for your body to break down and digest. This creates a time-released effect of caffeine unique to tea.
Unless you have a medical reason for avoiding caffeine, we suggest you start your day with just one cup of black or Oolong tea and see how you feel.
